Below are the research awards and grants that are available 2016-2017.
Allyn & Bacon Awards
PURPOSE
To recognize the best overall unpublished empirical research paper. This program is sponsored by Allyn & Bacon Publishers, and is open to all undergraduate Psi Chi members.
Cash awards will be presented to the winners as follows:
1st place $1,000 | 2nd place $650 | 3rd place $350 In addition, each winner and faculty sponsor will receive a certificate of recognition.
ELIGIBILITY
All Psi Chi undergraduate members are eligible to submit their research for the Allyn & Bacon Psychology Awards. Each first author must:

Allyn & Bacon Awards

ELIGIBILITY
All Psi Chi undergraduate members are eligible to submit their research for the Allyn & Bacon Psychology Awards. Each first author must:
- be an undergraduate
- be a Psi Chi member
- is only allowed one submission
STYLE / STANDARDS
- Papers must be currently unpublished
- Written in English conforming to APA style.
- The text of the paper is limited to 12 pages in 12-point font (double-spaced). In addition to the 12 pages of text, the paper should include a title page, an abstract (up to 120 words), references, and any necessary tables, figures, or notes.
- Poor spelling and grammar will be penalized.
- All papers must be masked. Type your Psi Chi member ID number in place of your name on the title page. Make every attempt to conceal the identity of the school, faculty advisor, and applicant within the paper by typing an X in place of the name.
SUBMISSION PROCEDURES

- Submissions are accepted online until midnight Hawaii time on May 1. Late entries will not be accepted.
Diversity Article Award (Due: October 15th)
- Two awards of $600 each. One Diversity Award will be given to the primary author of the best article related to diversity published in the Psi Chi Journal of Psychological Research during the year prior to the award deadline.
- One Diversity Award will be given to the primary author of the best article submitted for publication in Eye on Psi Chi. Winning the Diversity Article award means your article will be considered for publication, but does NOT guarantee publication in the Eye on Psi Chi. Your article will be submitted to our reviewers and you will be notified if it is accepted.

Regional Research Awards (I.e., SWPA) (Due: Varies but it will be in line with the SWPA abstract due date.)
- Seventy-eight cash awards of $300, available to undergraduate and graduate students.

Mamie Phillips Clark Research Grants (Due: November 2nd)
- Grants of up to $1,500 given annually to defray the costs of conducting a research project focused on diverse populations or diversity issues.
- Total funding available is $10,000 per year.
- Undergraduate and graduates students and/or students within one year of their graduation, and faculty Psi Chi members are eligible.
- Applications will be scored according to the level of education of the applicant.

Thelma Hunt Research Grant (Due: November 2nd)
- One grant of $3,000 for Psi Chi members carrying out empirical research. Preference is given to projects directly related to the mission of Psi Chi.Specifically projects that help produce well-educated, ethical, and socially responsible members committed to contributing to the science and profession of psychology and to society in general.
- Priority is given to undergraduate students, followed by graduate students and then faculty applicants.

Undergraduate Research Grants (Due: November 2nd)
- An annual total of $25,500 in funding to defray the costs of undergraduate research projects.
- Each applicant may request up to $1,500.

Regional Travel Grants (I.e., Traveling to SWPA) (Due: February 1st.)
- Individual grants ranging from $150–$400.
- Psi Chi makes $33,000 in total funding available each year to assist student members with travel to regional conventions.
- Funding per region totals $4,500–$6,500. Regionally available amounts are determined by the number of applicants the previous year.
